Famously Homme Rest & Recovery Part Two - The Jacuzzi - Reasons to Take the Plunge!

Famously Homme continues his 3 part series on rest and recovery - with the infamous water jet bath we know well as the Jacuzzi

The infamous water jet bath we know well as the Jacuzzi is effectively a body massager as the water jets and bubbles massage muscles and help you recover from your workout. Massage has many other benefits including relaxation and stress relief.

Stress Relief & a Good Night Sleep!

The water jets of a Jacuzzi provide a hydrotherapy massage for your muscles and joints. According the National Sleep Foundation, just soaking for 15 minutes in a Jacuzzi can ease some stress and help you fall asleep faster.

Soothing Arthritis

The heat of the spa loosens joints and improves mobility which is great for arthritis sufferers.

Wash Away Injuries

The hot water in a Jacuzzi can improve healing of injury by increasing blood flow, minimizing muscle tension and increasing joint mobility.

Reflexology

It is said that you can use the Jacuzzi to target pressure points, which minimize nervous tension. They apply this especially to the feet because the feet have over 7,000 nerves in them!

My suggested key benefits

As a result of my investigations and discussions for the Sauna, Steam Room and Jacuzzi my suggested key benefits are:

Sauna – Perspiration
Steam Room – Respiration
Jacuzzi – Relaxation

FamouslyFit’s Celeb Couple Jenny & Wayne Top Tips On Jacuzzi’s

Tip One - Flush Out Toxins

Jacuzzis have been shown too have hygienic and health benefits since the Stone Age. Sweating has been proven as effective in flushing out toxins and disease and helps to maintain optimal physical and mental health.

Tip Two - Social Benefits

As Famously fit's official 'love couple' we promote the social benefits of sauna's and Jacuzzis; you never know who you might see through the steam or meet in a bubbly hot tub! and you never know you might make some heat of your own.

Gladiator Warrior

Warrior uses the Jacuzzi 1-2 times a week saying “The Spa's high temperature is fantastic for soothing aching muscles that I encounter all too often!”

Amy Guy

Amy says she rarely uses the Jacuzzi because the chemicals (e.g. chlorine) used in them to kill bacteria make her eyes water. She prefers investing her time in the sauna for what she describes as a more productive and post workout all round spa treatment.

So what you thought was a just a glorified bath has turned out to have more of a purpose. We should all look after our bodies as best as we can. And that means relaxation and recovery as well as good nutrition and exercise. So the humble jacuzzi can improve your health and wellbeing and is not just another way to have a wash!

Keep your eyes peeled for the 3rd and final part of my health suites series where I reveal the results of my investigation into the benefits of the Sauna! We will find out why some people see the sauna as the best single thing to do after a workout.
