Lee´s Personal Training Tips for Success - The Rest Trap!

This is a trap I think a lot of us fall into.

We want to have that all important 6 pack or big arms and a solid chest, maybe ladies want to tone their inner thighs and bingo wings!

So what do we do?

We go the gym time after time and head straight for the machines or exercises that concentrate on that specific area.

We then go home feel great and repeat the same thing all over again the next day.

Muscles Need Rest

Well our bodies are not designed to work that way. Our bodies need REST!Rest is as important as working out.

For our muscles to tone and get stronger, we have to give them time to repair. Whenever we work our muscles, they actually tear a little! That is what actually then makes them strong. But they cannot do this if we are constantly overworking them day in and day out.

Variety – The Spice of Life

Vary your workout – you will get much better results!

For an example:

Day One – Chest and Triceps
Day Two – Back and Biceps
Day Three – Arms and Stomach
Day Four – legs with squats and multi directional lunges

A good qualified PT will be able to guide you toward the right specific program for the individual needs.

Just remember not to work the same muscles day in day out as you won’t reach your goal this way.

The body needs rest!
