Famously Homme - The Male Lifestyle Case Study Week 21

Following Famously Homme through the 21st week of making busy Executive Richard Curson into a Lean, Mean, Fat Burning Machine

My Week Before Christmas 2009… Trying not to be naughty!

I’m Taking Supplements Now

Because I have been tired a lot and suffering from winter blues a bit Ann suggested I get a good a Vitamin B Complex supplement which I did and now take one pill a day with my main meal.

Mr B is extremely important for almost everything in the body - cell formation, immune system and antibody formation, hormone production, cholesterol level maintenance, metabolism. When the body is under stress for any reason - mental, physical, emotional or psychological - it is very easy to start using more Vitamin B than is being provided even through a balanced diet.

Additionally I take a Vitamin C tablet dissolved in water each day to help boost my immune system during these snowy days.

Please note I am having 3 healthy meals a day and fruit and nuts snacks with plenty of water, these supplements simply add to my already healthy balanced diet.

Monday

This week was update week where Steven my Personal Trainer at London’s Hilton Hotel on Park Lane tested my fitness levels and weighed and measured me for progress – and I really have made huge progress so see how the effort I am making is paying off and after just a few months I am slimmer and fitter and healthier!

Remember how I started off?

And here I am now! What do you think?

A real tough set of Abs exercises by a new PT at Hilton Precor

. Elbow to knee crunch
. Reverse Bridge
. Medicine Ball Curl Up
. Stomach Crunches
. Plank
. Side Plank
. Press Ups

A real tough set of biceps stuff with Steven my usual personal trainer.

Monday Naughty Moment!

1 home made Mince Pie and 2 Quality Street Chocolates

Tuesday

10k run in 55 minutes – the sweat was pouring off me, I love that feeling you get when you have pushed yourself to the limit and you just know you deserve your 30 minutes in a good hot Jacuzzi! Simply heaven! And of course you also know you have had a good fat burning session which means looser trousers and something else to look forward to at the next weighing!

I always do some press ups and sit ups when I do just cardio sessions.

Wednesday

Today I felt very weak bizarrely so I found it hard to get through this session. I did a moderate session today as follows:

1k warm up run
5k run in 30 minutes
10 press ups
Exercise ball – Stomach crunches 3x 10
Reverse Bridge – (Technique…Hold hips in air, feet firmly on mat, stomach flat and tight) – 3 sets of 1 minute holds

Thursday

Rest Day – I am positive I caught a virus or something which has made me feel weak and exhausted. Nutritionist Ann Mather has suggested I get a good Vitamin B Complex supplement and take loads of Vitamin C to help me fight the virus!

Friday

5k Run in 24mins and 30 seconds followed by press ups and stomach crunches.
Walked 2 miles to the supermarket did my grocery shopping which included my Vitamin B supplement!

Saturday

Today was fat burning day. 5k Run in 30 minutes, nice and easy, then 5k in 23 minutes on the cross trainer. Followed by press ups and stomach crunches.

Baked a Christmas Cake… not a healthy version!

Saturday’s Christmas Treat

In the evening I had two glasses of Gordon’s Gin and Slim line Tonic

Sunday

Rest Day

Baked a second Christmas Cake (can you tell I love cooking… my favourite chef is Rachael Allen), played Christmas music, popped out to M&S for a couple of things and relaxed with a hot cup of tea in between!

Sunday’s Christmas Treats

Six Ferrero Rocher chocolates, glass of brandy, glass of Sherry and a slice of yummy M&S Christmas Cake, a toffee, 1 piece After Eight mint, Home Made Apple and Cranberry Crumble with delicious M&S Vanilla Ice Cream and 1 mini sausage roll.

Naughty Pre Christmas Week Summary

You might say I’ve been really naughty this week and to be honest I feel like it, but then I reflect and actually I’ve been soooo good over the last few months that a bit of rebelling at Seasons Greetings is acceptable providing I am continuing to workout and burn off the extra calories or at least some of them!

Next week is Christmas and I am really busy leading up to it with meetings and last minute Christmas preparation so it will take a lot of will power to get to the gym at least 3 times to burn off the Festive Fat – I’ve got to do it as I owe it to myself!

Till then Merry Christmas!
