Sizzling Summer BBQ - Chicken and Salmon
Added:Fri, 13th August 10
Well, things are definitely heating up and you can smell the BBQ´s all over the place. We all relate BBQ´s with healthy living, but here are two more comparison for you – lean chicken breast and salmon fillet.
So far we have looked at the shop bought burger, the home made burger and the pork sausage. The home made burger is top of the league at the moment. Will it stay there?
Again the values are given for 100 grams, and do not include the bun, ketchups, or other relishes. These add loads more carbs and fats!

Conclusion
On the face of it, Salmon does not look too good with the amount of total fat it contains. But this is where you need to understand your fats. Salmon contains huge amounts of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat loaded in Omega 3 and Omega 6 – and these are the good guys. They are actually cholesterol lowering and have so many other health benefits. So right now I am torn between chicken breast and salmon fillet – so let´s have a small amount of both!
