Professor Mark Watson-Gandy
Top London Barrister Guides Us Through Our Rights in the Fitness Industry
Meet our own Star of the Bar - Professor Mark Watson-Gandy!
Professor Watson-Gandy is probably too modest to shout about his achievements, so we are going to do it for him. We are delighted to have him as part of our team at Famously Fit - guaranteeing that our readers are getting advice from one of the leading barristers in the UK.
Professor Watson-Gandy has an incredible ambition - to make a difference and to be the voice for small businessmen - normally seen as an unfashionable cause. As such, he is a regular contributor to a number of magazines, helping to raise awareness amongst people about the legal issues that concern them. He works incredibly hard to simplify and codify the law so that we can all readily find out what the law is.
He is truly a world class barrister, having worked with the great and the good. Of significance, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI awarded Professor Mark Watson-Gandy a Knight of the Order of St Gregory the Great for his work as a barrister and law professor for the Catholic Church. The order is one of the highest awards the Vatican confers on lay men.
And if all of that does not keep him busy enough, he is a Visiting Professor at the University of Westminster (where he teaches Corporate Finance Law) and a Visiting Lecturer at Cass Business School, where he lectures on business law on their MBA programme .
Mark was recently shortlisted in Credit Today magazine’s Insolvency & Rescue Awards 2009 as “Barrister of the Year”.
Professor Watson-Gandy was called to the Bar in 1990 and was made a Junior Counsel to the Crown in 2000. In 2004 he joined the Bar Council’s panel of Young Spokesmen for the Bar. He is a tenant at Thirteen Old Square Chambers - a specialist chancery/commercial barristers’ chambers in Lincoln’s Inn and was founded by leading chancery silk, John McDonnell QC.
