PhysicaLee Fit! - Getting Started with Abs
Get Fit, Lean and Toned with ex Steps star turned Personal Trainer
Hey Guys, Over the coming months, I will focus on a certain area of the body and guide you through a set of exercises which will all work out specified target areas individually . As the programme builds, you will be able to put together a great circuit programme for the whole body.
I will throw away the MYTHS and give you the FACTS!
Showing you the correct way to perform the exercise and how to become fitter by progressing and varying your routine.
Now don't worry if you don't go to a gym, are afraid of a gym or can't afford a gym membership. If you follow this column weekly you will eventually build a mini portfolio of simple exercises that you can do at home and will give you an all over workout.
Even if all you have is a rug to lie on and some furniture to hand you can get fit.
The Start Point - Lee's Ab Attack....
Summer is around the corner and we all want that great beach body with the super flat stomach and those incredible six pack ab's , right?
So how do we get them?
MYTH !
If I do 100 sit ups a day I will get a sixpack.
FACT !
Getting “abs” is quite simply about providing the right calorie controlled diet, having a healthy regular training regime and following my workouts - which target stability and support - for all the areas of your abdominals .
Abdominal exercises alone do NOT burn fat away from your abs!
This can only be accomplished through a much more effective full body training routine that maximizes both your metabolic response and your fat-burning hormonal response to your workouts.
Remember it's not about how many crunches you can do everyday. You can perform crunches till you're blue in the face, but it wont matter if you have fat covering them.
Your body needs to burn that fat and one of the best ways to lose fat is through regular exercise, working the heart, as well as all muscle groups in your body.
