Richard Curson Powers On

Famously Fit’s First Famously Homme now takes the challenge a step further to get super ripped as the new and fresh Famously Homme male case study is unleashed!

Richard Curson can hardly be described as shy and retiring, but when it comes to talking about himself it is like extracting teeth from a lion! This is a guy who has achieved so much in his very short life (he thinks he is old at 31!).

He has worked alongside so many talented and famous people, and is probably at the forefront of what it means to be a PR Guru for the Celebrities! It would take two books for me to list all that he has done and the many people he has worked with, and all of them would agree that he has achieved amazing results. I have yet to come across anyone who can open as many doors, and his creative and entrepreneurial spirit is utterly inspirational!

Born 11 August 1980 in his hometown in Wisbech, Richard began a life long passion for show business, broadcasting and media as early as age 11. At that time, he was already making regular visits to Executives at the BBC, won 3 Blue Peter badges, including silver, for his achievements at the time.

By the time Richard was 14 he was already studying media (BTech National Diploma) at college, and having left school early, finished his education at higher education level with his chosen subjects - all media based.

At 16 Richard published his book, Burst with Verse! This is still available on Amazon. He sold 5,000 copies and became the youngest person in the UK to publish a book of poetry – a record he still holds today.

Richard, aged 17, went on to work with Tim Shaw at Magic Am in Sheffield and co presented Breakfast Radio shows when he was involved with numerous stunts including having his arm broken live on air. He left after two years to move to London where his career in media was to take a different direction, although he worked again with Tim broadcasting a weekly slot on Kerrang 105.2.

At the age of 19, Richard owned his own home, and in that same year (1999) he started working with an established publicist as a way to earn extra money. This was a step that was to shape his future.

Here, I am just going to mention a very few things that Richard has done, but please in your mind multiply this by a factor of 100 and you might get a sense of what he has really done!

    • Richard was involved in the most successful press campaign in the history of World Music Awards when he supported their public relations campaign in 2004
    • Richard founded “club4climate” – a climate change organisation – which has gone on to great success
    • Richard – being at the heart of celebrity culture - has hosted some of the most flamboyant glamorous and bizarre celebrity parties in London earning himself a distinguished reputation as one of London’s best celebrity party gurus.
    • Richard has written for and been publicised in various newspapers as a Celebrity Columnist - Daily Mail, The Times, Daily Mirror, the Sun, Gay Media including QX, Gaydar Radio and The Gay Times, The Big Issue and The Guardian. He has worked with The Daily Star, The Sunday People, Es Magazine, Loaded Magazine, and Grazia Magazine to publicise his clients and projects and parties. With all of this, he is not too proud to support his own local paper – the Enfield Independent – in which he revealed stories about Celebrities associated with the area

    • Richard has also become involved in restaurant PR - organising restaurant reviews (whisper has it that someone pretty famous in the food industry is his uncle!). Here he is pictured with Marco Piere White and Georgina Bruni.

In this capacity he has worked with numerous publications (to many to mention them all) including: The Evening Standard, Time Out, and The Times, Ok Magazine, as well as many smaller independents and glossy magazines. This, of course, has brought Richard into contact with top restaurants and eateries – Esca, Biagios, Leadenhall Italiano, the Queen Mary (London), Regatta on The Green, Gabrielle's - to name but a few!

    • Richard has been the PR and Marketing Guru for some top rich and famous people, including Tycoon Dave West, Barrister Professor Mark Watson Gandy and Supermodel Sonja Walker. He has represented The Cheeky Girls among a catalogue of celebrities and currently takes care of former Steps star Lee Latchford Evans in a sole and exclusive contract.
Over the years, the people that Richard has worked alongside and with would take another book to write about, but here are just a few names listed:

The Countess of Wessex; the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester; The Crown Prince of Brunei; Dave Courtney; the band Blue; Mark from Take That; Dancing on ice stars, Matt Evers and Kristine Lenko; Jordan Knight (of Backstreet Boys); Jodie Marsh; the Cheeky Girls; Calumn Best; Danielle Lloyd; X Factor star Journey South; Tom Cruise; Cindy Jackson; Chanelle Hayes; Jade Goody; Nancy Lam; Peter Tatchell; Rachael Stevens.

Richard co founded FamouslyFit with Lee Latchford Evans in 2009. It was the start of a personal lifestyle revamp which saw Richard take up the Famously Homme case study challenge during which he lost over 2 stone, got an abdominal six pack and completely changed his diet and how and lives his life. Richard quit smoking and has trialled a variety of gadgets, supplements and clothing on his way to physical perfection. His passion for health, fitness and wellbeing has risen from 0 to 100 in the space of 12 months and he is delighted to be in a position to play such a positive role in the development of these areas in modern society.

Richard is Lee Latchford Evans sole manager and publicist. He has been working with the former Steps star to develop his working life away from the music industry. Lee has deliberately kept away from the spotlight but is now making a return to public life and is embracing the opportunities being offered to him. There has been a lot of development and planning but 2010 will be much more of a promotional year when things get released - so exciting times ahead.
