Meet Louise Rogers - Figure/Bodyfitness Champion
Hi everyone!
Let me introduce myself…..

I have been a qualified personal trainer and sports therapist for 8 years and built up my knowledge and experience over this time… I have competed just three times to reach my goal of professional status in my chosen sport.

In terms of my training and background, I began athletics training years ago when I was in school. I was always talented at sports, particularly sprinting and hurdling. However when I left school I began attending the gym with my sister, simply going along and spending time on the stepper whilst my sister did her work out. From this point on I became quite interested in gym training and whilst at university I trained to be a fitness instructor and personal trainer. After I had completed my qualifications in personal training I began working at a local bodybuilding/power lifting gym and I was paired up with a colleague that was training for strong man events. I must admit at the time I thought this was an unusual pairing! However he introduced me to weight training and after a few months I switched to strength training and bodybuilding, and almost completely removed cardio from my work outs.

So… in 2008 I did my first competition and won, whilst also becoming British Champion in the same year! I then qualified to compete for the UK at the IFBB World Championships in Lake Como, Italy. It was at this competition I won my IFBB Pro card.
I am now preparing to compete in the professional league in America. However I have linked up with Famously Fit to give readers an insight into some of the key areas that link into my sport – most notably fitness modelling and the industry at large. I will hopefully give readers an insight into how they can go about moving into fitness modelling without feeling as though they need to be a size 0!.
I will also be giving an insight into some common, although rather hidden aspects of the fitness industry which I have come across as a personal trainer. My focus will be the world of disordered eating and it’s prevalence within the fitness industry, with a look at how women can avoid it!
I hope you enjoy my articles and if readers have requests please feel free to let me know through the Famously Fit team!
Thanks, Louise
