Meet Gladiator Warrior

Who could have imagined this formerly morbidly obese 24 stone individual would be gracing the screens as a super fit Gladiator?

At only 22 years old, Daniel Singh (aka Warrior) embarked onto the television screen in SKY 1’s revamped smash hit Gladiators earlier this year. Being a personal trainer and professional wrestler -having wrestled all over the world - it seemed a natural progression for this youngster to take the role of a lycra clad “Savage beast “on the show.

Always having been keenly involved in sport, Daniel advanced quickly in Rugby due to his well built frame. He was progressing at such a pace that he was on schedule to achieving a dream of scaling the pitch for the England rugby squad. However, as a teenager, a freak accident caused partial paralysis. Professional wrestling was always a release for this young man to get away from the months of painful rehabilitation – but at that time only watching it weekly on TV.

At age 16 Daniel told his mother that wrestling was what he wanted to do, and so he changed University for Lycra and body oil! Who could have imagined this formerly morbidly obese 24 stone individual would be gracing the screens as a super fit Gladiator?

It was at the auditions for Gladiator’s John Anderson, the legendary referee, took a shine to Dan. It was John’s inspiration that encouraged Dan to persist having not been able to participate on the show in Season 1. And of course Dan was successful!

Since joining the Gladiators, Dan has been actively involved in charity work. He has been a front man for Heart Research UK, publicising the awesome foursome event and partaking in extreme sports like bungee jumping to raise money for this great cause. He is also an ambassador for Alopecia Charity “ Be Bold” and as such, participates in the eye catching Billboards at key locations of the UK. In this way, Dan can spread an increased acceptance of every creed, size and shape.

Again on the public front Dan has headed campaigns for Sports manufacturer UNDER ARMOUR in their Welsh international advertising campaign, graced the covers of MUSCLE & FITNESS, had articles in Fightsport magazine, appeared in several music videos and most recently had a shoot for OK! Magazine.

He is now in preparation to present the UK STRONGMAN 2009 to be aired on Bravo later this year. We can now add acting and presenting to the many talents of this ambitious youngster. With his level of determination and work ethic, who can stop him!

We are delighted to have him on board with us at Famously Fit. He will truly be an inspiration to others, perhaps especially those who have suffered a physical set back when pursuing their own dreams on their early years.
