Kay Russell is a very quiet, unassuming and unpretentious individual, and when I asked her to provide a Biography, it was really difficult to get her to talk about herself and her achievements. What I do know is that Kay lives in the beautiful Dorset countryside and has spend all of her life breeding and training top quality competition horses and has won many prestigious awards – but she won’t tell me more.

Kay does say that being the best is at the top of her list – she wants to succeed in everything that she does. And over the past few years, she has really shown her entrepreneurial spirit. A few years ago, Kay came across an interesting cooling bandage in America and thought that this would be useful for horses with injuries. She later discovered that owners were using the product for themselves and decided to design a unique product specifically for people with sports injuries. The uniqueness of Kay´s product – Physicool – lies in the fact that the bandage is reusable.

Kay launched her product at the London Marathon 3 years ago, and it is now a shelf product with Boots the Chemist. This year, it was a complete sell out at the Virgin London Marathon 2010, and Physicool is selling throughout the world and into hospitals as far away as India.
