Battling the Bulges - Famously Belle Gets Started
Here's to No More Bat Wings and Thunder Thighs - Famously Belle Takes on the Challenge!
Hi
My name is “Shazia” pronounced “Shar zee ah” Firstly can I say I have never done anything like this before! Ok here goes all about me…….
I am 39 Years young, married with two girls aged 14 and 6 years old. I live in Harrow - not on the hill more at the bottom!
I am working fulltime with an airline and, no, I am not a “trolley dolly”. I work in our London office as part of the sales team working hard to get bums on seats! It’s a great job, full of challenges, with no day being the same!
So, how did I become Famously Belle? I was randomly approached by Korin Nolan who has been my Pilates teacher for years. Taking part in this amazing challenge was totally random opportunity, but I thought “mmmmm it will take me years to save for a liposuction and a full MOT over haul”, so why not!
All my life, since I was 16years old, I have been battling weight issues. Being an Asian Pakistani the pressure was and is always on you to be thin. I was constantly having my plate watched by aunts and uncles being told big people eat loads but that’s not always true! I always used to wish that the weight would shift from me to my two brothers because they didn’t deserve to be thin as much as I did. Unfortunately, it seems I have inherited mum’s genes, and they got dad’s - typical!
I have been through every imaginable weight loss programme in hope that each one would be the miracle diet. The most weight I ever lost was about 9 years ago when I managed to lose 3 stone. Which I managed to keep off for about a year and then I fell pregnant with my second child and I began to relax my eating habits again. Ann, Famously Fit’s Nutritional Advisor has already told me that faddy dieting will never work. I am going to have to learn to completely change my eating habits!
About a year and a half ago I joined a gym close to work and spent my lunch times in there doing 30 minutes of exercise a day. This was better than nothing. It was great and I felt good. A year and half on, my bulges are still there so I am clearly not doing something right. In the last month or so, the motivation was starting to wear off, and I was making more and more excuses to avoid going to the gym.

All I know is that for a very long time I have wanted to get totally fit and eat healthily, and with the help of Steven (LivingWell, Park Lane Hilton) and Ann (Nutrition Advisor to Famously Fit) I will finally succeed in tightening those bat wings, toning the thunder thighs, off loading my saddlebags, and most of all to end up with a flat washboard stomach.
I have a great target to work toward. Next June I will be forty and I don’t want to be a frumpy 40 year old. I want to look be a “glam mum”!
So here’s to lots of pains and aches, but more importantly “focus Shazia focus on a new lifestyle because someone is gonna kick your behind to get you there”!
'Til next time then ...... Belle
